The Ultimate Vitamin

For anybody in athletics, or anybody wanting
health and fitness for that matter, nutrition is
a hot topic.

What would you say though is the world's most
important nutrient?

What about . . .

Air

Get out your stopwatch and see how well you
perform without it.

In my research on concentration and focus for
shooting hoops I found a classic document
explaining an ancient breathing technique
called the complete breath.

I'd heard of abdominal breathing before and
assumed that's what the book was about. I
already did that, so I didn't get around to
reading it right away.

When I did though I found something that
goes way beyond belly breathing. And there
were dozens of different techniques to use it
to affect body and soul in wonderful ways.

Do you see where breathing better could
improve almost every aspect of your life? I
believe most people can.

So please consider this then:

What else do you know that can be both
under the control of your will or happen
automatically? And switch back and forth
between the two effortlessly.

That's because it involves both the conscious
and subconscious mind or the sympathetic
and autonomic nervous systems if you
please.

That means it can work as a bridge between
the two and has a unique power to affect both
systems. I can't explain how all that works in
a short post like this, but after reading the
book and practicing the exercises I know it
does.

The writing was pretty stiff and archaic
though so I took the time to go through, edit it,
modernize the language, and add some of my
own thoughts.

Now I'm making it available to you. It's so
powerful it's almost miraculous, and it may only
be limited by your willingness to use your
imagination and belief. To practice the simple
techniques and incorporate them into your life.

I've found it a big help in doing cybernetic
visualizations for athletics and life in general,
doing affirmations, concentration and focus
practice, energy work, etc.

A myriad of ways for using mind and body.

And I've found many physical benefits too. It
adds another gear to exercise and helps with
metabolism and fat loss. I also used to get a
couple of colds a year.

Since I've started on the complete breathing I
haven't even had congestion to speak of.

So if you see how valuable it is to get more
power and energy out of your breathing you
can order

Concentration Is ...

If Forest Gump had read my blog from yesterday
he might have said:

'Concentration is, as concentration does.'

The fact is concentration is not something we think
very much about. I know I didn't anyway. It's
been easier, in fact, for me to figure out up front
what it isn't.

It isn't tensing up and trying to force your mind to
perform. It's quite the opposite. It involves your
will, but it's not sheer willpower.

Concentration is a state of mental quiet, where
there is peace of mind and singleness of thought
and purpose. Concentration simply is the ability
to direct your thinking, and we all have the ability
to concentrate -- sometimes.

Think of the times you were 'lost' in something
you really enjoyed like playing hoops, enjoying
music, even watching good game, or a
blockbuster movie. In those times you achieved
almost total concentration.

Next time we'll talk about how to concentrate on
purpose. It's not as hard as you think.

Shoot For The Stars,

Coach Dean - The Dean of Shooting Hoops

P.S. Another way to explain concentration is as
what we athletes call being 'In the zone'. It is
both physical and mental. Many athletes have
experienced it before, but most couldn't tell you
how they got there or how to get back.

Don't worry though Coach Patrick Chylinski
teaches three ways you can get in the zone on
purpose in his e-book on becoming a big-time
scorer. And that's just two pages of a 41 page
report.

What would it be worth you to know just that
though?

How The Skeptic Can Change His Stripes

How The Skeptic Can Change His Stripes

Dear Dean,

How can a skeptic change his stripes?

With much difficulty, and here's why.

When you're a doubter and a skeptic you're like the
people trapped in the Matrix. There's a whole other
reality out there, but you'll never see it or experience
it until you're ready to let go of your doubter mindset.

A master martial artist once asked Bruce Lee to
teach him everything he knew about martial arts.
Bruce held up two cups, both filled with liquid.

"The first cup", he said, "represents all your
knowledge about martial arts".

"The second cup represents all mine".

"If you want to fill your cup with my knowledge, you
must first empty your cup of your knowledge."

There's no other way. No half-in, half-out. You can't
experience a deeper, power-filled, inner-life on the
installment plan.

Except for your fears though it's not that hard.
All you have to do is pay attention, and do what
those living outside your box recommend. Come
on in. The water's fine.

Blogger Steve Pavlina says, "Ultimately skepticism
is rooted in fear. Fear of making a mistake. Fear of
being gullible. Fear of looking foolish."

My mentor Matt Furey reminded me today you
can never really think yourself out of fear. You
have to act your way out of it. You have to be
willing to be imperfect, correct your course, and
smile about it, knowing you just learned something
priceless and became a better person for the effort.
It's all about the experience.

If you are ready to tap into new dynamic inner
resources in shooting a basketball then you are
ready for Coach Stan Kellner's basketball shooting
cybernetics DVD at:

And if you're still skeptical, keep listening, and keep
watching. Your time will come if you don't keep
pushing it away.

Shoot For The Stars,

Dean - The Dean of Shooting Hoops

P.S. Coach Hal Wissel also has his pulse on the
mind/body connection in his 2 shooting DVD's
which combine detailed shooting mechanics, drills,
and offensive moves, with confidence, self-talk,
and triggering keywords.

shooter you've dreamed of under Hal's expert

The Hidden Benefits of Shooting Hoops

I wonder if you realize what you've gotten yourself
into wanting to be a great shooter? It's actually
possible to set yourself up for life.

When you visualize yourself putting the ball in the
hole you are expanding your self-image to new
levels. You are focusing on what you want, and
letting the inner image change. Then the doing
becomes easier.

When you see yourself as a shooter your life can
change.

You will have learned a ton about desire, belief,
confidence, your mind, goals, perserverance, and
I could go on and on. What you learn on the court
you can apply to most anything you do in life, and
come out a winner. That is priceless.

The processes you learn can also make you more
successful in love, relationships, money, career,
spirituality, education, research, business - every
good thing you want.

For instance I'm sure you've heard the phrase 'time
is money'. And that's true up to a point, but really
isn't it ideas that make money. Creativity is a mental
skill, and as you sharpen your mind on the court, and
apply those same skills to the money game you will
have a much brighter future.

The best, most comprehensive mental program I've
ever seen for basketball comes from Coach Stan
Kellner. I was raving about the book yesterday, and
there is a wealth of information there.

It may be the best buy I've ever seen. It sells for $15,
and there are hundreds of powerful ideas to act on.

The same holds for his 'How To Be a Prime-Time
Shooting Machine' DVD. There's nothing else like it
so I've made it easy for you to order it today at:

Shoot For The Stars,

P.S. My business and life coach Matt Furey has
the ultimate winners attitude, and he teaches it
through exercise, conditioning, and mental power
programs.

He's also the head honcho at the Psycho-Cybernetics
Foundation where he carries on Dr. Maxwell Maltz'
vision for self-image building. You would do well to
visit Matt's sites and absorb as much as possible from
him. His daily emails are an education in themselves.

How Not To Hit A Homerun

When I played Little League baseball there was a
big husky kid named Carl M. Carl was a catcher
and a darn good one. An all-star.

Carl had a big weakness at the plate though, and
even at that level most of the pitchers in the league
knew about it.

You see Carl had hit two home runs in his first two
games, and the rest of the season he was addicted
to the long ball. He tried to murder every pitch that
came over the plate and most of them that didn't.

Truth is, most of the time Carl was an easy out.

Truth is you will be too, if you think like Carl.

You should be moving in the direction of your
goals every day, but you don't have to swing for the
fence every time you're at bat. You probably don't
need a grand slam today.

It's more important to do the little things well, and
do them consistently than it is to make the big
score. In fact, it's the little victories along the way
that prepare you for the big pushes when you need
to make them.

If you savor your victories as they come and
celebrate them passionately you will build a winning
attitude, and also be able to handle the inevitable
adversity with power and grace. And you will get
to your long-term goal that much faster.

In his Prime Time Shooting DVD Coach Stan Kellner
says it's more important you learn how to miss a shot
than how to make one.

Think about it. I had to. But if missing puts you in a
big funk it's awfully hard to build any kind of lasting
confidence. And without confidence you are dead
meat.

Learn how to miss shots the right way today with
Coach Stan's Ultimate Shooting Method DVD.
