Anybody Know A Shortcut

I love the true meaning of Christmas and the spirit
of giving it inspires, but good as that is for your soul
people sometimes get the wrong impression. I'll let
Coach Ray Lokar explain.

"I get players (and coaches) asking how they can
improve any number of different skills.
Everybody`s "wish list" is a little different - some
are thoughtful and some are ... interesting.

Players usually want to know how to increase their
vertical, or dunk in no time flat. Rarely do they ask
how to execute a proper jump stop, bounce pass, or
mid-range jump shot off the glass.

Some coaches want that one drill or play that will
turn their team into championship contenders. It`s
good to add drills and plays to your arsenal - as long
as you don`t forget to teach players HOW to play.

The amazing thing about the game of basketball is
there are NO short cuts. It`s different than
Christmas. There is nothing "magical" that is going
to happen in one day, nothing that is going to show
up under your Christmas tree that will make you
instantly better.

Santa Claus is not going to bring you an amazing
vertical or a pure jump shot. Kris Kringle will not
make your team a group of turnover free, tenacious
defenders. There is no one tip or one special play
that will make a player or team instantly better.
Just hard work and repetitions. Over and over
again. The right way."

The closest thing you'll find to magic on the court
though is what you can do with basketball
cybernetics. And it's not like some outside force
giving you powers. What happens is you learn to
use more of your potential. You still have to do
the work and the repetitions but you get more
out of your efforts when your mind is acting
cybernetically.

I'd Give My Right Arm For...

My friend Clayton Haslop who is a world-class
violinist told me this little story the other day.

Fritz Kreisler was a legendary Austrian violinist
and composer, one of the most famous of his day
(1965-1962). At the height of his popularity a
woman came backstage after one of his concerts
and enthusiastically gushed at him.

'Sir, I'd give my life to play like that.'

Kreisler responded simply, 'Madam, I did.'

It's true. There's no way around it. If you want to
be one of the greatest of all time at anything, you
WILL devote your life to it. Not forever, but as
long as you want to stay at the top and your body
and soul cooperate. Ask Michael Jordan. Ask
Picasso. Ask Jerry Rice. Ask Wayne Gretsky. Ask
Walter Payton and Emmitt Smith. Ask Larry Bird.

If you want to be among the best shooters on the
planet it's going to take single-minded dedication.

If, however, you want to derive personal pleasure,
a feeling of accomplishment, and personal growth
from playing basketball and especially shooting,
you can give less. And don't feel guilty about that.
Those are all worthy pursuits, and your training
will put you in great stead in any other field you
enter.

Learning to shoot is learning to hit targets.
Learning to hit targets is a learning to hit goals.
And training like that goes to the core of who we
are. It is priceless.

Dr. Maxwell Maltz pointed this out in 'Psycho-
Cybernetics' his classical book on the workings the
mind, success, achievement, and happiness.
When we learn how to work with the internal
tools we've been given by the Creator life WORKS,
and it's not a struggle. In fact, one of the key themes
running through Dr. Maltz' stuff is how what was
once hard can be made easy.

If you want to learn how to find the 'Easy'
button in your life you would do well to study any
of Dr. Maltz' works. There is a new version of the
original book out which I really like. It's updated
and edited by noted direct marketing ace, speaker,
and business coach Dan Kennedy, and it's called,
'The New Psycho-Cybernetics'.

But if you are really serious about wanting to get
the most out of your life there is a 12 week course
in a massive workbook and CD format which gives
you the most comprehensive exposure to what Dr.
Maltz has put in print or the spoken word.

Shoot For the Stars,

Dean - The Dean of Shooting Hoops

P.S. In the 60's Coach Stan Kellner read Psycho-
Cybernetics, and ever since he's been putting it's
powerful ideas in play on the basketball court.
If you want the easy way to take your shooting
to the next level there's nothing else out there
like Stan's "Prime-Time Shooting Machine" DVD.

Give it a spin today unless you don't mind getting
left in somebody else's dust.

How The Skeptic Can Change His Stripes

How The Skeptic Can Change His Stripes

Dear Dean,

How can a skeptic change his stripes?

With much difficulty, and here's why.

When you're a doubter and a skeptic you're like the
people trapped in the Matrix. There's a whole other
reality out there, but you'll never see it or experience
it until you're ready to let go of your doubter mindset.

A master martial artist once asked Bruce Lee to
teach him everything he knew about martial arts.
Bruce held up two cups, both filled with liquid.

"The first cup", he said, "represents all your
knowledge about martial arts".

"The second cup represents all mine".

"If you want to fill your cup with my knowledge, you
must first empty your cup of your knowledge."

There's no other way. No half-in, half-out. You can't
experience a deeper, power-filled, inner-life on the
installment plan.

Except for your fears though it's not that hard.
All you have to do is pay attention, and do what
those living outside your box recommend. Come
on in. The water's fine.

Blogger Steve Pavlina says, "Ultimately skepticism
is rooted in fear. Fear of making a mistake. Fear of
being gullible. Fear of looking foolish."

My mentor Matt Furey reminded me today you
can never really think yourself out of fear. You
have to act your way out of it. You have to be
willing to be imperfect, correct your course, and
smile about it, knowing you just learned something
priceless and became a better person for the effort.
It's all about the experience.

If you are ready to tap into new dynamic inner
resources in shooting a basketball then you are
ready for Coach Stan Kellner's basketball shooting
cybernetics DVD at:

http://www.deandelker.com/kellner_order.html

And if you're still skeptical, keep listening, and keep
watching. Your time will come if you don't keep
pushing it away.

Dean - The Dean of Shooting Hoops

P.S. Coach Hal Wissel also has his pulse on the
mind/body connection in his 2 shooting DVD's
which combine detailed shooting mechanics, drills,
and offensive moves, with confidence, self-talk,
and triggering keywords.

You can become the complete, versatile, unstoppable
shooter you've dreamed of under Hal's expert

Skeptics Welcome Here

I know some people are skeptical about all this
inner-game, mind power, cybernetics stuff. Even
though it has worked over and over in situations
from golfing to going to the moon, these people
haven't seen anything unexpected happening in
their lives.

Unless you can hit them over the head with the
mental equivalent of a 2 x 4, whatever you say,
their first response is to doubt.

"How do you know that's true?" is their mantra.

Maybe they all have some connection to Missouri,
the "Show Me" state.

I understand that mindset. I was trained in the
sciences and have a Master's Degree in Electronic
Engineering with a Digital Design emphasis from
the University of Missouri at Rolla. That's the way
we were taught to think. I've since found out
though it's just part of the big picture.

And that's not bad. It drives the scientific method,
and it protects us from scams. It's just limited.

To be consistent and intellectually honest though
shouldn't the skeptic eventually come to doubt his
own doubts. What if his assumptions are wrong?
What if the universe is not just an external,
objective, material reality.

What if it is subjective, fluid, and we are meant to
be co-creators of our own reality and future. If it
is even partially affected by our thoughts, beliefs,
feelings, and decisions then approaching it from a
position of doubt means you're guaranteed to cut
off a huge chunk of your potential. And in my
experience it would be the best part.

Tomorrow I'll show you how a skeptic can change
his stripes, but for those of you who are ready for
the big-time already Coach Stan Kellner wants to
show you how to use your mind to drive a well-
oiled shooting machine. Pickup your keys today at:

The Catch 22 of Confidence

Building confidence in shooting is like getting a job
you want.

To get the job they want you to have experience,
but to get experience you need the bleeping job.

Frustrating, right?

Well it could be, but when it comes to shooting as
they say at the Texas Hold 'Em table you've got a
couple of "outs".

I'll tell you one of them now.

Start 6 feet from the basket, or closer if you are a
young player. Like many shot coaches, I favor the
one-handed shot we taught before as a warm up.
It reinforces the upper body form you will need for
longer shots and naturally trains you to keep the
shooting hand facing the basket.

As the ball rolls off the index finger and you swish
the shot it is very important you mentally celebrate
the made shot. Don't look at it as a 6 footer you
should have made, or a baby shot. If you want to
have supreme confidence you have to build up a
massive reservoir of made shots in your mind.

Coach Stan Kellner has you saying an enthusiastic
"YES" every time you make a shot. That simple
act builds chest-puffing confidence when it's
embraced and repeated over and over. Then once
you are confident in that shot, move back a step or
two and repeat the process.

Of course, you have to learn how to use misses to
build your confidence too, and Stan does a far better
job of explaining that than I would so I'm going to
recommend you invest in his 'Prime-Time Shooting
Machine' DVD today at:

http://www.deandelker.com/kellner_order.html

Shoot For The Stars,

Dean - The Dean of Shooting Hoops

P.S. Hal Wissel's DVD's also do a great job of building
confidence by anchoring keywords with your shot.
At the same time Hal schools you in rock-solid shot
mechanics. If you feel you need more help in that
area you may want to get Hal's DVDs first. You can't
go wrong either way, but catch Hal's confidence
boosters at:

I believe in you. You just need to learn how to
believe in yourself.

P.S.S. I always like to hear your success stories.

Use It Or Lose It

A number of years ago in a business I got to know
two brothers from South Florida. To maintain their
privacy I'll call them Chip and Dale.

A friend and I ended up training the 2 brothers so
we spent quite a bit of time with both of them, their
wives, and their children. Over time we heard their
life stories, and Chip and Dale were as different as
any two siblings could be.

Chip was ambitious, smart, respectful, fatherly,
generous, positive, prosperous, and loyal.

Dale was broke, working at a menial job, childless,
disrespected his wife, was usually negative, and
drank too much.

They had both had it rough growing up. An
abusive father, a mother who died, in foster homes
together, etc. I noticed one thing from hanging
around them so much though.

One of them had had gotten bitter, the other had
gotten better, much better. I'm sure you've heard
similar stories. They abound, and they all point out
a very important lesson.

You can use your past to make excuses and fail, or
use it to to motivate yourself and rise to success.

It's all up to you.

Shoot for the Stars

Dean - The Dean of Shooting Hoops

P.S. Chip sought out help dealing with his past.
You can too. "Zero Resistance Living" is a unique
life mastery course that teaches you in detail how
to reprogram your subconscious internal
computer and change your life.

Don't let anything from your past stop you from
experiencing the success you deserve. See what
I mean today at:

P.P.S. You will be a better shooter if your mind isn't
burdened by nagging issues of inferiority, failure, etc.

I Can't Afford It

I had a couple of emails lately with people saying how
much they'd like to buy something on
http://www.deandelker.com
but they couldn't afford it.

Believe me I know that feeling. Until the last couple
of years when the kids got older my wife Joan and I
were raising 5 children on a single income. It was a
deliberate choice, but things were almost always tight.

Even when Joan started working part-time I still felt
'We can't afford it' was my permanent mantra.

I know today rather than giving in to that kind of
feeling, it is far, far better to ask an enpowering
question like, 'How CAN I afford that?'

Not that you expect to come up with an instant
answer, but when you pose the question and give
your subconscious a crack at it you'll usually come
up with ways to make it happen.

I also used to believe the adage 'It takes money, to
make money', but I've been convinced lately that's
a cop-out. What it takes to make money most of
the time are creative ideas. Sure there are plans and
action involved too, but the seeds to your success are
in those ideas.

If you've found yourself wishing you had more money
for a worthwhile need lately have you ever thought
about promoting a basketball camp in your area?

If you have time, are willing to do the legwork and
promoting, know coaches in your area, and can find a
good set of dates you can make some good money.

I'm thinking about doing that over the Christmas
break myself.

Coach Stan Kellner's 'Yes I Can' camps have a lot to
offer. You only need one day free to host their
powerful shooting camp, and that would probably
be a unique offering in your area and well attended.
Their full basketball cybernetics camp is also
awesome.

Check it out at:

http://www.yesicansports.com/bcamp2.html

Shoot For The Stars,

Dean Delker - The Dean 0f Shooting Hoops

P.S. Coach Stan has taught basketball players how
to integrate mind and body and get amazing results
on the hardwood for over 30 years. His basketball
cybernetics programs have helped untold numbers
of players break through their self-imposed limits,
create more productive self-images, and reach new
performance levels.

Stan's new shooting DVD demystifies the process and
has you getting positive results in far less time. It's not
unusual for several kids in his camps to hit over 100
shots in a row after learning Stan's methods.

Don't be a wimp with money any more. Find a way to
afford it and order it now at:

I Have Gas

You might remember my other passion besides
hoops is music. I played in a band called 'The
Lavender Hill Mob' which made good money and
was regionally popular in the Kentucky, Indiana,
Illinois tri-state area in the late 60's and early 70's.

I played rhythm guitar then, and switched to bass
in the early 80's in another band. I still play in a
rockin' worship band, and occasionally in a blues
all-star band.

Almost every musician I know has bad GAS.

Gear Aquisition Syndrome we call it. We're always
looking for the latest and greatest, (or oldest and
most-classic) guitars, basses, amps, strings, pre-
amps, effects pedals, etc. You name it. We want it.

Heck, there's even a cottage industry out there
pushing super high-tech guitar cords. Forum
boards fill up with people arguing about this kind
of stuff.

The thinking is, if I get X, Y, or Z that will make me
the player I want to be. Nothing wrong with good
equipment, mind you, but guitar playing is more
about your hands and your soul.

So please don't fall into that GAS mentality with your
shooting. You don't need to be looking for the flavor
of the month. Shooting is all about meat and potatoes
fundamentals.

One of the reasons I choose the products I do is
because they stress fundamentals. They have
staying power and fulfill a unique need in your
training. Otherwise I don't carry them.

Not just physical fundamentals either. Lee Milteer has
a book called, "Success Is An Inside Job", and that is
SO TRUE.

Coach Stan Kellner really knows how to teach those
inner fundamentals for basketball. His new shooting
DVD actually shows you how to become a shooting
machine. You still have to take what he gives you,
put it into action, and make it your own, but all the
raw materials are there for super stardom.

Find your inner fundamentals today at:

Be Master Of Your Own Fate

Champions do not become
champions on the court.

They are merely recognized
on the court.

They BECOME champions in
their DAILY ROUTINE.

Players do not really decide
their future ...

But they decide their habits,
And their habits decide their
FUTURE!!!

- Anonomous

What kind of shooting habits are YOU building
today?

It's a lot easier to build those habits when your mind
is clear of doubts and focused on your goals.

You may not believe how thoroughly Coach Stan
Kellner covers that in his book, 'Beyond The Absolute
Limit' till you read it for yourself.

In one chapter he has students in his camps establish
their best vertical leap, not on a wall, but in relation to
the basket. Say one young camper can touch the
bottom of the net.

Then he has them get quiet, breathe deeply, and relax
while he leads them through a guided visualization. He
has them imagining power and energy collecting over
their heads then saturating their body. Energizing their
muscles, etc. And he has them visualize their bodies
being light as a bird's.

Lastly he has them go out and try to get the rim again,
and almost without exception the kids jump 2 to 4
inches higher than their previous bests. With no
plyometrics,
fancy shoes, etc.

All that just from breaking internal limitations the kids
had. See the miracles for yourself at:

http://www.deandelker.com/kellner_order.html

Shoot for the Stars,

Dean - The Dean of Shooting Hoops

P.S. That holds for Stan's Ultimate Shooting Method
DVD too. If you want to learn how to release the
super-shooter within you can't run too fast over to:

You'll be ready for an incredible journey then.

How To See Your Future

In his book 'Sacred Hoops' Phil Jackson relates how
B.J. Armstrong would use visualizations before
games.

'I believe if I can take twenty or thirty minutes
before each game and visualize what's going to
happen I'll be able to react to it without thinking
because I will already have seen it in my mind. I
can see myself making a shot or boxing out or
getting a loose ball.

And then when I see that come up during the game
I don't think about it. I do it. There are no second
thoughts. No hesitation.'

If it's that important for professionals to use their
imagination in preparing for a game how much
more so for the rest of us.

Sometimes it's not easy though. It comes naturally
to some. Others struggle with it. That's why I
recommend Stan Kellner's materials on basketball
cybernetics. He will teach you dozens and dozens of
ways to turbo-charge your game through learning
to use your imagination positively.

I know you can do it. You already use your mind
negatively when you worry about anything. You
run a 'what if' scenerio in your imagination, don't
you?

So why can't you use your imagination positively
for your own good?

You might just need a little help first. Then you'll
be taking off like a Saturn rocket. Isn't that what
coaches are for.

Shoot For the Stars,

Dean - The Dean of Shooting Hoops

P.S. The help you need is only a click away. Don't
be too proud to ask for help, or lollygag around and
miss out on your super-future.
